The pain horses experience can be challenging for humans to manage because of the language barrier and because the horses might resist orally administered painkillers. Acupressure is an alternative medicine technique based on the concept that energy flows through certain "meridians,” or pathways, in the body. With this technique, pressure is applied by the beads provided with the AcuLife patches, or by hands or elbows, to specific pressure points to clear blockages in these meridians. It is that blockage to which pain or other maladies can be attributed. It is similar to acupuncture but less invasive.
